Not To Be Outdone By The Catholic Church! New Life Church Keeps Cranking Out The Scandals!

So When Does The Sex-Slave Operation Come To Light?

The Church and sex. It's getting to be like some strange one-upsmanship or, better yet, a race: who can be more hypocritical: The Catholic Church or New Life Church or the whatever-non-denominational-megachurch-is-in-at-the-moment. Yes, I admit that taking potshots at church sex scandals is waaay too easy for us immoral liberals, but I also have to admit: IT'S SO, MUCH DAMN FUN!

-From Michael Signorile:
A Colorado Springs bail bondsman and sometime bounty hunter who has been investigating New Life Church and Ted Haggard for several years appeared on my show late on Friday and told me that he now has information on ten more cases of sexual misconduct on the part of Ted Haggard and that three of these involve minors. He also said that New Life Church had suppressed from the media an earlier case of a pastor at the church (which has many pastors under the senior pastor) who was convicted of sexual assault against a child under the age of 15 and got off easy with help from the church, only to later have his probation revoked. The convicted pastor then illegally left the country, he said, and he speculates that New Life Church may have helped him do so.
And the hypocrisy keeps growing and growing and growing and GROWING!

I know the stock answer to all the stuff that has hit New Life: "But OUR church isn't like that!" Sorry, but this is a time when you should be your brother's keeper. So many people distance themselves from the likes of Ted Haggard, from Jeremiah Wright, from John Hagee, from Rod Parsley, from Fred Phelps, even from the Vatican, when DISTANCING IS NOT ENOUGH. They have to be openly ostracised. Not even Jimmy Swaggart, Jim Bakker, and, yes, Pat Robertson and Jerry Falwell were punished enough. Am I being a little too strict, too vengeful here?

Yes.

Because they would do the same to me.

You better believe it. There is not enough accountability in these situations: the Catholic Church has protected pedophiles by tossing them from one parish to another. New Life Church pays the victims hush money. How many potential scandals are buried under our very noses? We may never know.

And it will be a long time until America's "Christians" will realize that "Rev." or "Fr." is not "St."

Far from it.

Just a thought.

Rush Limbaugh's Greatest Fear: People Will Find Out How Much He REALLY Weighs!

Yes, People, Rush Limbaugh Is Really Rush Blimpo And Tips The Scales At 5000 lbs!
(The Republicans Love Him Because
He Looks Like Their Mascot - Only Moreso!)

From Think Progress:

Limbaugh Opposes Health IT Provisions, Fears His Medical Records Might Become Public

As the Senate prepares to vote on its paired down version of the recovery package, Rush Limbaugh is still inventing reasons to oppose its passage. Today on his radio show, Limbaugh zeroed in on a $20 billion portion of the bill devoted to increasing the use of health care IT. Limbaugh warned, “Your medical treatments will be tracked electronically by a federal system” and declared that this and similar health care provisions have “nothing to do with stimulus but have everything to do with advancing the liberal agenda”

Limbaugh should be forced to have FactCheck.org on site. Then immediately after his show, they can run down the list of erroneous things he said.

Rather, most summaries of the legislation explain that physicians will be offered financial incentives in the form of direct grants and increased Medicare reimbursement rates for adopting “certified electronic health records” and proving that they utilize them “effectively.” Indeed, while the government will be subsidizing the creation of this “nationwide system to exchange health data electronically” — it will not be running it.
I can see why Republicans took offense at Obama's Rush Limbaugh comment - it made them look stupid because they actually DO follow what this man says. They will follow anyone who makes $33 million per year.

ANYONE. This man can stretch the truth, lie, take things out of context, skewer people for the fun of it. He's the Republican dream.
